People Made New In New Zealand!

Saturday, August 14th, 2010 Posted in Harvest Crusades, Pastor's corner, travel | 5 Comments »

We had another great night here in Auckland, New Zealand. We saw some 1,500 people come out for our meeting last night, with around 175 people responding to the invitation to receive Christ!

That is 375 people who have responded at our “pre-crusade” rallies! That’s like a mini-Harvest Crusades event, all by itself. I think we will have a tremendous event, when we come back here next year!

Thanks for your prayers.

Greetings from New Zealand!

Good morning from Down Under! It is Saturday here, so I am a day ahead of you. It’s winter here in Auckland, New Zealand, where we are planning a Harvest Crusades event for sometime next year.

We had a amazing meeting here last night. This was a small-scale kickoff event attended by 1,200 people. The mayor of Auckland welcomed us and shared his own amazing story of faith. There was also outstanding music from our good friends, the Katinas, and Phil Joel, formerly of the Newsboys.

Having flown in that morning, I have to admit I was a bit jet-lagged, but the Lord blessed as I preached, despite my shortcomings. The most amazing thing of the night was when the invitation was given. Some 200 people came forward, and the counselors were a bit overwhelmed, to say the least. Keep in mind that this was more of an event for the church than an evangelistic outreach.

Needless to say, things are really spiritually ripe here in New Zealand. Thanks for your prayers.

I’m Off To Preach In New Zealand!

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010 Posted in Harvest Crusades, Pastor's corner, family, holidays, travel | 8 Comments »

Hey everyone!

I have been hanging out and just recharging a bit and getting ready for a trip to New Zealand!  We are hoping to do a Harvest Crusades event there next year, so we are holding a pre-crusade event this weekend in Auckland.

The mayor of the city is going to be there, along with some leading pastors from the city. I will speak two times and meet with a lot of people, so please pray that God guides and blesses our steps as we seek to take the gospel to the whole world.

In fact, we have held a number of events in New Zealand over the last few years, and they were very well-received. The people there are wonderful.

Joining me will be the Katinas and Phil Joel, formerly of The Newsboys. Phil is a “Kiwi,” a New Zealand native, so we know he will connect well.

It’s a 14-hour flight across the ocean, so you won’t hear from me for a while. And after this trip, I am taking a vacation with my family!

Talk to you soon.

We Had An Amazing Weekend At The Southern California Harvest

Monday, August 9th, 2010 Posted in Harvest Crusades, OC, Pastor's corner | 9 Comments »

What can I say, but “Wow!” What a weekend at Angel Stadium!

Last night was epic with Steven Curtis Chapman, MercyMe, and Dr. James Dobson. The stadium was packed out with 48,000 people packed, and thousands were even turned away. We called it “An Evening of Hope” and I interviewed Steven and Dr. Dobson on the “whys” of suffering in life.

This was not only a night for evangelism, but for believers as well. There are so many hurting Christians who are facing tragedy, and I have already heard from many of them, telling me that what they heard last night brought great comfort.

Incredible response to the gospel

When the invitation to follow Christ was given last night, 4,224 people responded! That brings us to a total of 118,000 attendance, with 11,045 making commitments to follow Jesus Christ this weekend!

Largest web audience ever!

Our audience on the Web was much larger than normal, as well. Last year, 74,000 viewed our live webcasts. This year, we had 290,000 watching online!

And don’t forget that many more will see the archived webcasts during the weeks and months to come.

This year’s event was also broadcast live on KFSH (95.9 FM) locally in Southern California, reaching thousands more.

Whew!

Coming to your TV too!

We will also broadcast the entire Southern California Harvest internationally on TBN soon. I’ll let you know the airdates as soon as I find out.

So, God bless you all, and thanks for your prayers. This was an amazing Harvest weekend!

And if you didn’t get a chance to see any of the webcasts, you can watch it all in HD here.
