Lessons from Jonah

This week on A New Beginning, I’m talking about the book of Jonah and the lessons that we can learn about obedience.

Here’s a video of me telling the story of Jonah to some of my granddaughters a couple years ago. Feel free to watch it with your kids or grandkids!

We’ve also put together some resources for pastors and group leaders who want to teach through the book of Jonah: sermon notes, message highlights, video and audio content, and even an original song from the Harvest Worship Band. Feel free to use or adapt any of this content to “Go!” into your world with the gospel. Here’s the link: http://www.harvest.org/jonah-go.html

I was Jonah years ago and went to a place far away from home. I found out I couldn’t run far enough, so I turned around and told God I’m sorry and I want to do what he wants me to do. So, please, let’s go do what you want LORD. Good good Father.

This is so cool, to see this story of Jonah being told. This story is one of my favorites to tell to my grandchildren as well. I have to say we have similar story telling skills. lol. But what God laid on my heart, was Leslie how will you tell this story to my children, your grandchildren and so now when I read my bible I pray that God and the Holy Spirit will give me the wisdom to be able to tell His story, so my grandchildren will understand and know God and the love of Jesus Christ even deeper. It is such a fun and just amazing thing, when you go to visit and you have your bible with you and they grandma read me the story of Jonah and the whale, read me about the birth of baby jesus, moses, noah. Such a blessing to share the word. Thank you Pastor Greg, you have been touching my life for many years now. When I was coming to know the lord, you would be on the radio in my kitchen, how many times did i get taken to my knees and cried out to our father, by your faithful committment and message given to you by the Holy Spirit.
