IRVINE, Calif. — Pastor and Evangelist Greg Laurie kicked-off SoCal Harvest 2017 by sharing his vision for the upcoming evangelistic crusade with hundreds of pastors, church leaders, parachurch organizations and business leaders from across the state. Held at Angel Stadium’s Diamond Club, the gathering marked the official inauguration of SoCal Harvest 2017, which will take place this August 18-20 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
“Yesterday’s meeting is where this massive undertaking called SoCal Harvest, truly begins,” said Pastor Greg Laurie. “It’s about mobilizing the church to tell everyone we can about the Good News of Jesus Christ. It’s amazing to watch these church leaders get fired up about what God is about to do here in Southern California this August 18-20.”
Started in 1990, this year marks the 28th SoCal Harvest Crusade, an annual event held at Angel Stadium which is free to attend. Every year the event includes thousands of volunteers and draws a combined attendance of well over 100,000 over three nights—including hundreds of churches and youth groups—making it the longest running, large-scale evangelistic outreach event in U.S. history. In person attendance along with live webcast and simulcast views for Harvest events total more than 7.6 million, with nearly half-a-million people deciding to make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
SoCal Harvest 2017 will include performances by recording artists Crowder, Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Phil Wickham, Jeremy Camp, Jordin Sparks and Danny Goeke.
By drawing on the latest in current events and incorporating contemporary music, technology, and entertainment into his crusades, Greg Laurie brings his trademark ability to present the Gospel message in a clear and culturally relevant way. Billy Graham, the internationally famous evangelist, called Laurie the “evangelist of the future.” In addition to founding the Harvest Crusades, Laurie also serves as senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship, which has campuses in Riverside and Irvine, California, and Maui, Hawaii. He serves on the board of directors for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
