Let’s talk some more about heaven!

May 29th, 2009 Posted in Harvest Crusades, Pastor's corner, sermons

This Sunday at Harvest,we will talk some more about heaven! I love this topic and really want to learn as much as I possibly can.

This Sunday,we will deal with issues like:

  • Do people in heaven know what is going on here on earth?
  • Are they watching us?
  • What are the rewards the Christian will receive in heaven?

The New York Harvest is coming

Our next Harvest Crusades event is just around the corner. The dates are June 13-14 at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island.

So if you are on the East Coast, I hope to see you there. This crusade will also be webcast live, so think about who you could invite to watch it with you!

Michael Franzese at Harvest

It was my privilege  to interview former Mob kingpin Michael Franzese at Harvest this last Sunday.

His story is absolutely amazing, as he has turned his back on his life of crime and is now serving the Lord. It just goes to show that no one is beyond the reach of prayer! Don’t ever write anyone off, thinking they could never come to Christ.

The Bible reminds us “With God, all things are possible!” Michael’s story certainly illustrates that.

Click here for an HD version of our interview. I encourage you to click the icon that will make it full screen. The quality of this video is very impressive.

Don’t forget to send a link to a friend too.

I want to say thank you.
Earlier in the day yesterday, you came to mind…about thanking you. Mostly because of your sermons and your blog postings since July, I was able to not say the wrong thing, and to have something of merit to say, to parents of a co-worker of mine who died last week.

The young woman who died was/is a Christian, and her parents are Christians, and so I will see her again in heaven someday. (We have not lost her – we know exactly where she is.) In the conversation with her parents, her father said he listens to your messages every morning on KWVE. Small world that this would come up. He will be speaking at his daughter’s memorial service this afternoon at 2:00.

You have mentioned the book Heaven, by Randy Alcorn (I mentioned this book to these parents last night.) For some reason, about two weeks ago, I knew I already had it and wondered if I had ever finished it. I went and pulled it out of the bookcase, took my bookmark out (from who knows when), and began again. I think this book is wonderful – it addresses misconceptions some people have, and I’m totally engrossed in it.

Anyway…..thank you. For your openness, and yes, for sharing your grief and pain over the last 10 months. God is using what came from you…at least in my life anyway. And your blog yesterday said your topic last night was “Heaven.” So this reminded me that I had thought to thank you.

(I didn’t send this earlier, but just now I read your blog posting for today (Heaven again), and I was reminded again to send this.)

God bless you Greg – am still praying for you.
