A great comment from the blog

August 17th, 2009 Posted in encouragement, Harvest Crusades

Hey everyone!

I just received this comment on the blog, and I wanted to share it with you right away!

The doors were closed on a few friends of mine yesterday, but I am amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit. One of my friends is a new believer who took his best friend who is a non-believer, or I should say was. The gates were closed right in front of them. The people in front of them were the last to get let into Harvest. My believer friend was very upset because they had walked so much and waited for so long and he really wanted his friend to be saved.

But as they closed the gates on them, he noticed his friend standing in front of the gate and just staring at it for about 5 minutes; just staring, not moving. He called my believer friend over and told him that if he were to die now, those gates would be the gates of heaven closing in front of him and there would be no other chance for him. He felt as if God was calling him to change his life around. They went home where he wept and accepted the Lord.

So you can add one more to your list. God Bless!!!

What a great story of how God works even when we don’t think the circumstances are right!

My husband and I attended the Harvest Crusade on Sunday night. It was our first time attending and this year was the first time we had even heard about it. We are both believers, but it was still a very powerful and amazing experience for us. I remember when you told the crowd that the gates had to be closed because there were so many people. My husband and I looked at each other and we were happy that so many people had come but sad at the same time because of the ministry opportunity that some non-believers missed out on. Almost makes me wish that we hadn’t gone, because the four seats that my husband, I and our 2 little girls took up, could’ve been used to let 4 more non-believers listen to your message and come to Christ. Reading the above post reminds me that God does amazing things! My husband and I were wondering about all those others that were not able to get into the stadium and didn’t have the same experience that that non-believer did. Is there anything being done to reach them? and is there anything that we can do to help? This has been on our hearts ever since Sunday and we were hoping that something could be done. Thank you for all that you and The Harvest Crusades do.

Wow! The Spirit had already revealed the truth. He just needed the picture of the consequence of disobeying it.

God’s love is very powerful. My little sister was denied entrance on Saturday but returned on Sunday and was saved yesterday, I was unable to attend but when I found out I cried. Every time I hear of a new person being saved I can’t help but feel so happy. God bless everyone.

    Thank you for sharing that!

I was fortunate to make it inside with my friend and her two teenage daughters. But things seemed to be working against us that day. My friend ran a little late. We couldn’t find the end of the line for about 20 minutes. We tried to get a seat where we could see the stage and climbed up and found ourselves going back down and sitting behind the stage. We sat separately and my friend’s eldest daughter sat behind me and didn’t have a good view of the screens. I wasn’t sure if she’d be engaged and if this would keep her interest. I prayed and God told me that even though the “environment” isn’t ideal, he could use it. The little girl that was beside me went to go sit with her mom so the dad let Sabrina moved beside me. This was as you started your message. The spark started when she ask “JESUS IS COMING BACK HERE TO EARTH?” Despite the long lines, her seat, the fact that she wasn’t into “rock” music, she ended up on that field wanting a relationship with God and wanting to be close to Him.

Another great story for you (condensed of course) of God working when the circumstances don’t seem right in our eyes.

Praise be to our Father. It was a blessing to serve our Lord every night as a decision councilor. This praise report brings tears of joy to my eyes and my heart yearns even more to serve the True God.

Praise you Greg for your service to the Lord. You have been a blessing in my life from the earliest days of my walk to my strongest days now.
