Steven Curtis Chapman is coming to Harvest!

November 4th, 2009 Posted in Pastor's corner, encouragement

Yes, it’s true, legendary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman is coming to perform at Harvest Christian Fellowship on Sunday, November 15, at 6:00 P.M.

This will not be just a concert, however. It will be a very special event.

We are calling it An Evening of Hope. Steven will perform songs from his brand new CD Beauty Will Rise, and I will share thoughts from Scripture on the topics of tragedy, suffering, hope, and heaven.

As you may know,Both Steven and I  share a common bond of having our children go to be with the Lord in 2008. But out of our pain, we will offer hope and encouragement to any person who is hurting.

The holidays are hard for some

For many, the holiday season can be a difficult time.

Some people have loved ones who have passed on this year. For others, their struggles with failing health, broken families, and other trials seem to be amplified in the Christmas season.

That is why this event is so significant.

Beauty Will Rise

You need to get or download Steven’s new CD Beauty Will Rise. I have never heard anything quite like it. These songs have weight and substance and will touch your heart and mind.

Steven and I will talk together about the hope we have found in our relationship with Jesus Christ, in spite of the unspeakable tragedies we both have had to face.

No charge

This special event will not be ticketed. It is free to the public on a first-come, first-seated basis.

I suggest you arrive early and join us for an event that I believe will bring a much-needed message of encouragement to many who need to hear it. I also think that this will be a great event to bring a non-believing friend to, also.

So pass the word, and I will see you there!

P.S. If you are unable to make it, we will also stream An Evening of Hope live at harvest.org.

    Hi Pastor Greg!

Looking forward to this webcast! I’ll put it on my calendar, cause I tend to forget stuff… and I was going to make a silly joke, but it wouldn’t be prudent, so, I’ll share it with you some other time.

Back on topic… I hope that a lot of people that don’t know the Lord yet can make it to the service, and that souls can be saved because of Steven’s and your testimony.

On a related topic… wanted to tell you that this past weekend we got to see 24 souls saved on Friday, 20 on Saturday and 45 on Sunday!! Since we had the first (out of 2) evangelistic campaign of this year. I don’t know how many invitees were there, so I could give you the attendance vs saved people numbers, but we had a great harvest of 89 people who gave their life to Christ! It’s really exciting!! We’ll start working probably this weekend on the scenery for the December campaign. I’ll keep you posted when we get near the date.

May our Lord use Steven and you very powerfully on this event, so people can come to Christ.

    God Bless!

I am so blessed, can’t wait! It will make the holidays a little eaiser, being able to share them with Steven and yourself knowing we all have had unfortunate losses resently.
There’s something that happens in my heart every time you share anything about your Christopher, and I think it’s called healing. God uses your Christopher, through you, to comfort the deepest hurt in my heart (the loss of my son Christopher).
I may be selfish in requesting this but never stop sharing those sweet precious things about your son.
I so look forward to a night of continued healing, being minstered to, by two powerful lives use by God=)

Thank you, for such a time as this…We never know when our day will come to enter the courts of heaven. My father was a drinker and workaholic. Then, suddenly God transformed his life and I witnessed the transformation. Though his death brought me pain;ultimately, I was lead to the Lord because he became a believer just six before the auto accident and in the twinkling of an eye he went to heaven.DOA is what the doctors told me. I thought NO! His Alive with our Lord and Savior.
Blessings to you both, two men with BIG Hearts. We will be there.

Thank you so much for remembering that the holidays can be very painful for those of us who have lost loved ones. My mother died on Christmas eve, 2007. Christmas will never be the same again. It brings back her last fighting days to my memory.

    Thanks again for your empathy,
