    Greg,

Thank you so much for following God’s call for your life. You are an inspiration for our family, and our hearts go out to you and your family. Even though we have never met face to face, we love you.

As we have come to know a little bit of who you are through the radio here in Elizabeth City, NC, and have heard about your loss, it has become readily apparent that you are an amazing dad. We also have two young boys (both under 2) and we are searching for some instruction on parenting. You are a person who came to mind immediately when my wife and I asked each other who we should talk to about this advice. If there is an author or particular book you could recommend, outside of the Good Book of course, we would be more than grateful. Once again, thank you for all that you do and the heart that God has given you.

You are in our prayers and God bless,

    The Troeger Tribe

I just wanted you to know we are still praying for you, Cathe, Brittany, Stella, the baby, Jonathan, your family and friends daily. We have the picture up in our kitchen and it reminds us to be in prayer for you all every time we see it. We pray He continues to bring you comfort, strength, and the peace that passes understanding. God Bless You!
    Still praying,
    Michelle

  3. Bill and Kathleen says:

    Pastor Greg,

Still praying for comfort, protection and continued strength for you and your family and a special prayer for Brittany as she completes her final trimester. To God be the Glory (I love that!).

  4. Patsy says:

    Dear Pastor Greg and Family,

Wow! Jesus is so awesome! I was a decision follow up worker for this past crusade. I was blessed to speak with a mom and her 4 children, who drove from Thousand Oaks, CA. The mom had attended Harvest years ago, and said that she had heard about Christopher’s tragic accident and wanted to come to the crusade.

She has boys, ages 6, 10, and 16, and a girl 12. Mom said that the 10 and 12 year olds were the ones that prayed and asked Jesus into their hearts. As I was asking the 10 and 12 year old questions, I started to looked over at the 6 and 16 year olds and I asked, “Did you ask Jesus in your heart tonight?” They both said yes! As I was giving them Bibles, I looked at Mom and asked, “Do you need a Bible too?” She said well, yes, I need one too. I rededicated my life tonight! I hugged them all and Mom said, I’m glad we were all given Bibles because now we can all read together.

I asked them to gather in a circle and all holds hands to pray. I could not hold in the tears of JOY! I finally got out my prayer. There for awhile, I thought I was going to have to ask someone else to pray. What a a GREAT privilege it is to serve the Lord!

You and your family have been a wonderful example to the body of Christ, and to the world. Words cannot even express the strength the Lord has given us through you and your family! Thank you for giving to the Lord!

    Love in Christ

  5. Trish says:

I live to see God glorified.

Again, we were very blessed to participate in this year’s crusade. God is so faithful and continues to do exceedingly more than we can imagine or hope for. What an awesome Harvest!

Your family and extended family are in our daily prayers. May our good and gracious Savior, comfort you through this time of grief.

    Always in His love,
    Trish

  6. Kai says:

My condolences to you and your family.

  7. Cathy says:

    Dear Pastor Greg and family,

We truly know your pain and loss. Our 24 year old son died on August 15, 2007. He was a Christian also, but, sadly unlike your beloved Christopher he committed suicide. Yes, it can happen even to Christians. Our hearts break for you all, as we know the road you are traveling. But, we also “still believe”.

As a couple we made a conscious decision, from the first day, that we would hold on to God and each other. We purposed in our hearts not to let Satan have the victory in this. God has been faithful and is already using us to reach out to others going through loss and grief. We have our bad days, “but God”, is still faithful. He is still good, and His word is still absolutely true.

Hold on to the hope that God can bring you through, just as He is bringing us through. He does give you beauty for ashes. Words can’t express how our spiritual arms reach out to embrace you. We will continue to pray for you all.

    In Christ’s love,

  8. Kathy & Brian says:

    Aloha Pastor Greg!
We got the opportunity to see your movie last night at CC Komo Mai. How inspiring. We truly did miss you there, but know that there is no distance in the Spirit.

We lift you and all your family, including Brittany and Stella in prayer to the throne of Jesus where you may rest in His perfect peace while He restores your soul and renews your strength. Jeremiah 29:11

    Aloha Ke Akua!!

    Dear Greg,

When I first heard about Christopher’s passing, I wondered about the timing of it in light of your recent release of Lost Boy, the recent release of Cathe’s Women Encouraging Women, and the upcoming Harvest Crusade. Was Satan going to have the victory or was God going to be all the more glorified? Praise the Lord for His sustaining power in your lives! Philippians 4:13. I am blessed and rejoice with you, and will continue to pray for you all.

  10. Kacey says:

    Dear Greg and Family~
I just want to encourage you and let you all know that the Lord continues to put you all on my heart several times a day. After losing a husband in an airplane accident, I know that the first year is the hardest.

Hang in there. The time WILL come that the tears will be less often and the ache in your heart will not always be so deep. But for now, there are tears and heartache. Jesus will be with you through it all.

    Blessings,
    Kacey Camp

  11. Bernard says:

Sunday night at the Crusade, I had the privilege of counseling a very excited young couple. They were touched by God and the story of your son. Their names: Chris and Brittany!!!

Pastor Greg, Cathe, Jonathan, Brittany, and Stella,

I was a follow-up counselor at the Crusade for the first time. I knew I wanted to go down on the field and pass out the Bibles. I wasn’t nervous for the first time in my life. I trusted God to be right beside me. What a true blessing. I’m ready for more. Thank-you for your family and I’m never going to stop praying for your needs.

  13. Scott says:

Thank you, Greg, for preaching the Word of God.

You are doing exactly what the Holy Spirit would have you to do–not wavering in your faith and boldly proclaiming the truth of the Bible.

May you continue on in faith, love, deed, and commitment. But, most of all, may you not lose hope.

God Bless you today and forever!

  14. Rocio says:

    Hi Pastor Greg:

I just would like to thank you for all that you have taught me through the radio and Harvest. I became a believer 6 years ago and attended my first Harvest Crusade in 2005. Thanks to God and to you for the beautiful teaching of the Word of God.

My husband and 2 sons gave their lives to Jesus. Since then, we are growing in his Word. God blessed us with 2 more sons, and it’s just amazing to see my 4 year old praying and thanking God for everything that is going on in our family.

I want to let you know that we love you and we give thanks to God for all the love He is pouring over you and your family in this time of mourning. I heard the memorial service of Christopher. It was beautiful to find out how much God loves you and your family through your friends and your church. Through the prayers of many of us here in California, and I’m sure all over the world, God is with you, Cathe, Jonathan, Brittany, Stella and Lucy. I’m going to keep praying for all of you and like Jonathan said, To God Be The Glory.

    Love,
    Rocio

  15. Pamela says:

I wanted to tell you that we have been bringing people who do not know the Lord to the Harvest Crusades for many years. We have seen the Lord draw them to Himself. Each year one or two would go forward to accept Christ as their Savior, but I have to say in all those years we have been going we have never seen a harvest like this one. Eight of the nine people we brought over the three nights gave their lives to the Lord. I believed God would use Christopher’s passing to reach many for the Kingdom and I believe He is not done.

On a personal note, this tragedy has also moved my husband and I to a new urgency to reach others before it is too late. I have been going to Harvest since 1985 when I accepted Christ. Some years later, in 1990 you had a mini crusade in Sacramento where my husband went forward and accepted Christ. We have been to every crusade since, except one in 2000. That was when, on July 14th, our 10 year old daughter was in a car accident and was on life support at Loma Linda. Pastor Steve W. came with many others and prayed over her. The Lord spared her and gave her back to us better than new. She is now on the SWAT team using that very work God had done to reach others for Christ.

We are praying for all of you. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for setting such a strong example of hanging on to the Lord.

    In His Love,
    The Baine Family

  16. Michelle says:

What do I live for? I would hope that I live for God. This was not always so. The world used to be more important, but not so much any more. Praise God. Most people know that about me and that hasn’t always been true either. I am grateful for that.

I hope you and your family are well, and you find the rest in Jesus that is very much needed at this time. Your ministry has been a huge tool for me to grow in the Lord, and I am also grateful for that!

    Take care,
    MV

  18. Art says:

    Hi Pastor Greg,

I saw how God has used Christopher’s life as a testimony to all the people who attended this year’s Crusade. I pray that God will continue to pour healing and comfort over your family.
