    To: Pastor Greg and family,

I just watched your video “Video tribute to my son, Christopher, now in Heaven.”

I just lost my beautiful son Glen Alexander to a drug overdose at 23. Pastor Vince Bueno did a wonderful job on his memorial service.

I watched my son’s memorial video a few times. When I watch it, I have mixed feelings. I am so happy I have all of Glen’s pictures and videos. I never want to forget him. I am so happy for Glen that his struggles have ended and he is happy in heaven. Yet, I still miss him here with me. I loved Glen so much and he loved me. That, in itself, is a blessing.

We both were blessed to have our sons as long as we did. We will never forget them, nor do we want to. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you for every person you lead to Christ. That expression, “If only one person comes to Jesus, it will be worth it”, has new meaning to me now. My son gave himself to Jesus in 2002 and wrote about it in 2008. That one person is a BIG DEAL, when it is your son that was saved from an eternity of hell.

    Most Sincerely,
    Margaret Alexander

I had never heard about your son or your family. I found this video tribute because I added Pastor Laurie to my facebook page. The part of the video that impacted me most was the final word “Believer”. This video encouraged me to be re-baptized and to recommit my life to the Lord. My father died 13 years ago on July 25, 1997. He had been baptized 5 years earlier. Just as your family wants to be reunited with your beloved Christopher, I want to see my dad again. Thanks for sharing this video and I hope you share it often, because you just never know how God will use it. God Bless you and know this: in small and big ways God will make sure your memories sustain you and one day although it may be hard to believe at times, there will be more smiles than tears at every rememberance of your son.

I just watched the video for the second time and still it brings tears to my eyes, but joy at the same time knowing that the memory of Topher lives on in each of your hearts and minds. Thank you for showing all of us who have lost a child how to hang onto the Lord and trust Him even when our circumstances don’t make sense!

Thank you for sharing this tribute again.

  9. Darrell says:

On the anniversary of Christopher’s homecoming to heaven, you are all in my prayers. I know my own loss, and it still hurts. Yet I can now see how God used it for good and to bring others to Christ. How much more does your visible faith in this give me encouragement during my adjustment to this new reality of grace in loss.

  11. Nanette says:

    Dear Pastor Greg,

I pray for you and your family and know that God will continue to give you strength and never leave you. My son just got back from prison on Monday. He has turned his life over to the Lord and tomorro is the first time we will be in church at Harvest in four years. I know I will have many emotions and am really looking forward to your message. My son has been so incredibly blessed since he came home. He found a place to live, he’s been offered jobs, his life is already going great. He wore the t-shirt “To God be the Glory” yesterday to lunch that I bought him at the Crusade two years ago…It seems so surreal to see him again. We will see you tomorro. Thank you for your teachings and helping me to stay strong for this time in my life. I know that you and your family will remain strong through Him also. Thank you again for all you do.

    Nanette

I remember see you and Christopher at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs Raul Ries’s church a couple weeks before Christopher passed. The words and encouragement that you gave me and showed me after such a horrible tragedy really has strengthen me and I now know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I can never thank your church enough when they prayed for my mom to be healed of cancer and now she’s cancer free. I know God will bless you and your family for all the wonderful work you’ve done. Even my uncle is now a Christian and I’m so proud of the work God has done in my life. Thanks so much Greg and may you have wonderful day in Christ Jesus Amen Brother.
