What comes to mind when you think of this great American city? For some it might be the Cubs or the famous Wrigley Field. For others it might be the gangster era with such names as Al Capone. For even others it the mouth-watering deep-dish pizza Chicago is so well-known for. But what comes to my mind when I think of America’s third-largest city is evangelism.
For it was from Chicago that the great American evangelist D.L. Moody came. Moody went on to touch his world with the gospel and still inspires other evangelists like myself today. Chicago has been home to some amazing evangelistic events from preachers like Billy Sunday to Billy Graham, but did you know they have not had a coordinated city-wide outreach for some 14 years?
That’s about to change.
Well, thanks to the vision and commitment of over 200 evangelical churches in Chicagoland, that is about to change. From September 24–26, I will have the privilege to speak at our Harvest event at the Allstate Arena. I am honored to have been asked, and I have to say, I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity. I will be joined from some of the best christian artists out there, from The David Crowder Band, Jeremy Camp, and Kirk Franklin to Steven Curtis Chapman and Skillet.
I would really appreciate your prayers for it.
This entire event will be webcast live online. For more info, go to chicago.harvest.org.
