The Lord did a powerful work Saturday night at our Chicago crusade!

September 26th, 2010 Posted in Harvest Crusades

Saturday night saw 16,400 stream into Allstate Arena. Among them were many young people as the music and message were geared toward Chicago’s youth. I delivered a message called, “What is the Meaning of Life?” and the Arena rocked with Skillet, Kirk Franklin, and The Katinas.

The Lord touched many hearts, and when the invitation was given to follow Jesus Christ 1,554 came forward in response.

Please pray for the new believers—that our follow-up team would get them plugged into a Bible-teaching church, and they would be grounded in their new faith.

The Chicago Harvest is not over! Tonight includes an amazing musician lineup: Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp, and the Katinas, so it’s sure to be an evening of fantastic worship.

We are calling this “An Evening of Hope” and we will offer that hope from God’s Word.

If you know anyone who is hurting or in pain, this is the night for them, or perhaps for you as well.
We will deal with the topic of tragedy and why God allows it, even in the life of the Christian.

So, either come in person if you are in the area or watch it live at harvest.org.

My aunt and uncle invited my boyfriend and I to this event. I have been raised in the church and was interested in going, and as a bonus watch Skillet perform, but my boyfriend was more apprehensive. I convinced him to go and we had a great night! My boyfriend prayed the prayer and became a Christian and his life will never be the same. Without this event I don’t know what would have happened to him. I am so thankful for this whole weekend. I went Saturday night and didn’t plan on coming back Sunday night but it was so powerful that I couldn’t resist. When the Katinas played, “Oh how He loves us,” I broke down in tears, both nights. Amazed at how God could still love me, even after knowing about the gift of His Son my whole life but doing nothing with it. I have rededicated my life and decided to think for myself and follow Christ, no matter how hard it is. I’m ready for the challenge, and excited to see how my boyfriend will grow in the Lord and how I will.

Greg, thanks so much to you and Harvest crusade. After 20 years of praying for my wife to be saved, Sunday 9/26 we attended this service and she took the leap of faith during the Evening of Hope. She along with my 15 yr old daughter (Yvonne) accepted Jesus as their savior. Thank You Jesus. Please pray for us (we have been married 29 years and I’m still in love with her as I was when I met her), I have two other girls (16 – Ashley and 19 – Natalie) that also need to accept Jesus as their savior. Thank you once more, truly it was an awesome experience a miracle.

Thanks, Greg, for being a real instrument of Christ. You are a man of integrity. I have been listening to you on radio for 18 years, here in Chicago. Thank you for the Chicago Crusade. Please return and put Chicago on a Summer slot for another one. People are getting to know you. Chicago is hurting and needs Christ.
