Happily Married?

April 30th, 2011 Posted in sermons

With the wedding of Prince William and now Princess Kate complete, we wish them the very best.

It sounds like something out of a fairytale; doesn’t it? A prince of England meets a “commoner” and marries her and she becomes a princess.

How does the rest of that story usually go? Oh yeah. . . “And they lived happily ever after.”

But is that even possible in this day and age?

Is a happy marriage an oxymoron?

Oscar Wilde once wrote, “The world has grown suspicious of anything that looks like a happily married life.”

With divorce so rampant, we wonder, can you have a happy and lasting marriage in this day and age?

The answer is YES! And this weekend at Harvest Riverside and Orange County, I will tell you how!

My topic is “What Jesus Taught about Marriage and Divorce.”

Special music too!

We will be joined by Britt Nicole.

Britt is a very talented young girl whose songs are getting a lot of airplay these days. One of her songs that I really like is “Walk on the Water.” She will perform that and others in all of our weekend services at Harvest.

Yes, there is such a thing as a happy marriage. I was currently married April 8, 2011 to a ,man i dated when I was 19. After 25 years, we have come “full circle” so to speak and we put God first in everything that we do, every decision that we make. With God, all things are possible. God bless and have a blessed day.

Yesterday, was a start of new day for me.
Through the invitation of my cousin, I attended the Sunday service in Harvest, Riverside.
I came, not knowing what to expect.
As the music start, as I listen, I felt the lyrics in my heart, and find myself singing to the joyful song.
It is of hope and of courage

I was very surprised with the timely coincidence of Greg’s message: What Jesus Taught About Marriage and Divorce (Matthew 19)
I am very much moved, and touched. For mine is in a very trying time.
I pray that my husband and I were there together, side by side.

We have been living apart for more than a year now. We have a son, almost 4yo who lives with me.

There’s nothing I hope and pray but for us to be together again & be a family.

    Yesterday, I open my heart.
With my pain, I seek, and I’m learning to find Him.
I do not fear, for He is with me.
When I’m weak, He is strong.
When I’m small, He is big.
God is love. God will heal us.

    Thank you very much.
    God Bless.
