Tonight at Harvest Orange County: “The Almost Christian”

November 10th, 2011 Posted in sermons

Let me state something that may surprise you.

Did you know it is possible to pray and not necessarily be a Christian?

Did you know it is possible to try and keep the ten commandments to the best of your ability and not necessarily be a Christian?

It’s even possible to be baptized and not necessarily be a Christian!
I think one of the problems we have today is there are a lot of educated nonbelievers, or what I would call “Almost Christians.”
They are close, but not close enough.
So, how do you go from being an “Almost Christian” to a real one?
That is what I am talking about tonight at Harvest Orange County.

  1. PAUL says:

Is it possible that I am “Almost a Christian” if I believe in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of my sins?

    Hi there,
I dont know how it happened but when I logged in on my computer tonight your website came up. This was to my surprise because I actually was typing in something comepletly different.?? Anyway, I just wanted to say I read your testamony and thought it was said beautifully. Thank you for sharing something so special.

It’s true. There’s a saying that goes: “Being in church doesn’t make you a Christian, just like standing in a garage doesn’t make you a Car”. It’s not what we say or do, but how we live that makes us a real Christian, after all it is about Christlike ;o) We can say we love God, but He says “If you love me keep my commands” Our actions speak louder then our words to those that don’t know Him personally.
