This Sunday at Harvest: Hope for Those Facing Crisis

January 20th, 2012 Posted in sermons

It’s a day like any other day. You get out of bed, get dressed, have breakfast. And then “it” happens:

A call from a loved one or police officer telling you there has been an accident.

A call from your doctor about a test he did and you need to come in right away.

A note on your counter from your spouse saying they are done with the marriage.

A new pain in your body you have never noticed before.

The list goes on.
Crisis. . . it hits fast and hard and takes no prisoners.
Pain has knocked on your front door and has now moved in without your permission.

And it refuses to leave.

So what do you do now? I’m glad you asked that question!  :)

That is exactly what I will be dealing with in my message this Sunday at Harvest Riverside and Orange County in all of our services.

Pastor Greg, I would like to thank God for His word and using you to teach it. Your message on “Hope when Facing Crisis,” a couple of weeks ago really showed me the LOVE of God. It’s been over ten years that my brother had been murdered by his friend. The guy was convicted and sentence for 20 years to life, but still with the possibility of parole. He is scheduled for a parole hearing. After all these years it seems like yesterday since this happen. I am sorry for your lost. I watched my mother go through the heart ache and pain of losing her child for many years. Through God’s love, grace and mercy, I have decided to face him at the hearing for the first time. Since many years after the trial, I feel that God has prepared me for the past few years by giving me scriptures such as Prov. 3:5-6 Trusting in Him and Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is my strength and many other verses. Especially after your sermon, I knew I must do this. I am not in fear because God is with me and I pray He will use me to be light to this person in Jesus Christ. I thank you for preaching Gods word and God giving Harvest Christian Fellowship leaders and teachers like you.

I would like for you to know that your knowledge and wisdom of Gods word has helped me and my wife understand Gods love for the lost souls in this world.I want the people we are in contact with receive these blessings as well. Please continue to spread the gospel because the time is short,we will continue to do our jobs as well.We attend your ministry via the internet up here in Alaska. So the word of God is reaching the far north. As I close please let Pastor Josh know the souls in the bars and existing on the streets are not losers, just lost waiting to be found.I was once one of those souls trapped by the deception of satan and his punks.Pastor Josh keep up the good work of the LORD.All of Gods children are special .There are no losers, just lost.Kristi and I love all of you and your ministries. the Tripletts

Thank God for Your people. Thank you Pastor Greg for loving God & teaching us His word. Today’s sermon was an eye opening to me, because I did what you said when you quoted psalm 23 I would read the psalm and when I got to v4 I would change it to: Lord Don’t let me walk trough the valley of darkness…… I now understand what it means… I’m learning slowly but i know that with God nothing is imposible. I’m a work in progress. Thank You God for loving us and giving us teachers like pastor Greg..

He has turned to drugs, alcohol and now a woman. Please pray for his salvation and the salvation of our kids who are 19,16 year old boys and our 11 year old girl. Pray that God gives me the wisdom amd Courage to withsatnd the Devil and to raise our kids in Christ.
