Happy Thanksgiving!

November 27th, 2008 Posted in family, holidays, photos

Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving.

We had a great day on Skid Row in L.A. at the Fred Jordan Mission.

Cathe, Jonathan and me on Thanksgiving

As I mentioned earlier, Fred was my uncle and started this outreach some 60 years ago to reach out to those who are in great need. His philosophy was to feed and clothe them, but also to always make sure they each heard the gospel. Uncle Fred went to heaven some 20 years ago, but his wife Willie, his sons Tom and Peter, and other members of his family have carried this vital work on to a new generation.

So taking a cue from my uncle, I spoke for around 15 minutes and told everyone how they could know God in a personal way though Jesus Christ. I also extended an invitation for them to come to Christ, and many indicated they had done so after I led them in a prayer of commitment.

Fred Jordan Missions fed more than 2,500 people today. I encourage you to remember them in your prayers and with your support.

Dear Pastor Greg, Cathe and Jonathan,

I’m loving the newest pic of little Lucy! She looks like she is giving us all a big kiss!! Every picture tells a story. Yeah.
And big sister Stella is soooooo cute. She reminds me a little like Shirley Temple. What a complete doll, zebra bow and all.

Where to now, Lord, I pray.

Blessings and continued joy to all.

i just remember praying that the Lord would help your family through this time during the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas), that He would bring someone there into your home to ease your pain some how. Even though I know your pain will remain for your son, I never dreamed that He would give you your new grandbaby in time for Thanksgiving. Congratulations to you all. She is so beautiful! Straight from the Father’s hand. What a blessing. How precious. God bless you all.

Back on the blog site today. Work took me away from a lot of things the past few months but making sure I spent time with God daily. Pastor Greg I was at the Philly, PA Crusade last October 4 w/my two kids. We bumped into Pastor Levi Lasko and make a long story short I asked him to say hi to you for us. He said “say hi to him now.” Next thing you know he had his digital camcorder on my face. If you had seen the video keep in mind we drove all the way from Dover, DE that day. Not a good hair day to say the least. This post on Skid Row thanksgiving pointed out even more the staggering number of needy people in the country today. I pray that churches and Pastors will call for prayers for the hungry and the needy people of our country. May God meet all their basic need for food, clothing and shelter.

    Pastor Greg,

If Uncle Fred is/was able to see you at the missions I know he was smiling and happy to see you there and sharing the Gospel!

Baby Lucy Christopher is beautiful! If Christoper is able to see her from Heaven than he is also smiling along with Uncle Fred.

I wish I could see you and give you a hug and tell you in person that I love you.

I pray for you and your family often….

    Dear Pastor Greg-
Congratulations and Praise God for your beautiful new grand daughter. What a blessing for you all – I’m sure Christopher is looking down from heaven with a smile on his face. I also was blessed with a new grand daughter, Sophia Marie, on November 26th – I pray that the Lord will abundantly bless her all the days of her life, as I’m sure you wish for your little precious girls. God Bless you all and thank you for your ministry. It has meant more to me than I can ever say.

i just came across your web site today.
thank you for all you do to help others.
and i will send a prayer for you and your family about the loss of your son. i can not even relate to what that would be like. [ i have only one child i am not sure if i could see things the way your family has] it seems for what ever reason one was taken and another new life has come into your world.
May God Bless you and your family.

    Hi Pastor Greg,
You have much to be thankful for even though you’ve experienced such a great loss this year. Christopher is in heaven with Jesus and now God has blessed you with one of the very best things in life – a new, healthy baby grand daughter! God knew what He was doing when he gave us grandchildren. :) They are the perfect blessings to bring new joys into our lives. They put permanent smiles on our faces when they are around. What a great gift He gives us for our perseverance in raising His children!
Have a blessed Christmas with your family this year.
    All Our Love,
    Ruth and Ernie Tripp
