How many of you have blown it in life?
How many have done things you wish you had not done?
How many of you need a second chance in life?
I have good news for you. . .
We serve a God of second chances!
And third ones, and fourth ones. . . .
Tonight,at Harvest Orange County I want to look at a man who desperately needed a second chance in life.
His name was David.
Two other names come to mind when we think of this outstanding Biblical character: David and Goliath and David and Bathsheba. One represented his greatest victory, the other his worst defeat.
Yes, King David, the one uniquely described as “The man after God’s own heart,” committed adultery and then to make things much worse he also committed murder!
Yet, God graciously extended to David a second chance. (So much for the so-called “wrathful God of the Old Testament.”)
If God did that for David, surely He would do it for you.
