The Lost Boy premiere is here!

June 21st, 2008 Posted in lost boy, Lost Boy Blog, sermons, travel, video

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well. We are having an early summer here in SoCal and it is hot, hot, hot!

It’s also going to be blazing hot weekend for the Lost Boy story as well. This Sunday night is, dare I say it, the WORLDWIDE premiere of Lost Boy: The Documentary. I am very pleased with how this has turned out. I hope you will be too.

It is going to be available for you to view in our webcast, which will start at 6:00 P.M., Pacific time. So please remember to tune in and get someone to join you.

We will doing this in a Flash video presentation, which means the image you will see on your screen will be larger and more vivid. For a taste of what you’ll see, check out the new trailer on the top here.

Leading others to Christ

I hope you will use Lost Boy: The Documentary, along with Lost Boy the book as an evangelistic tool, and I hope watching my story will inspire you to tell YOUR story to ultimately point people to the Greatest Story Ever Told –Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection from the dead.

To help prepare you to do that, I will be speaking on the topic of “Leading Others to Christ” this Sunday morning at Harvest, as part of our series from the book of Acts that we call Upside-Down Living. The text we’ll be study is Acts chapter 8.

Lost Boy movie tour

I am kicking off the Florida leg of the Lost Boy movie tour next week.

I will be in Kendall, Florida, at Calvary Chapel of Kendall (a suburb of Miami Beach) with Pastor Pedro Garcia on Wednesday, June 25. We will show the Lost Boy film at two services, 6:30 P.M. and 8:30 P.M., Florida time. For more info on those services, click here.

Then that weekend, I will be at Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale with Pastor Bob Coy on June 28-29, speaking Saturday night (with a special showing of the Lost Boy film), and then speaking Sunday morning at all three services.

There will be Lost Boy books signings at all services in Kendall and Fort Lauderdale, so I will look forward to meeting you in that area! Let me know if you are one of my “bloggin’ buddies!”

Future Lost Boy movie showings

In July, Lost Boy: The Documentary will be shown at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs (Raul Ries is the pastor there) and Calvary Chapel South Bay (Steve Mays is the pastor there), with more dates to be announced later.

So check out the premiere of Lost Boy and please, let me know what you think, OK?

Last night, I went forward at the altar call after watching the film Lost Boy and hearing evangelist Greg Laurie speak.  I went forward as a public demonstration of my re-commitment to Jesus Christ.  Its something I actually did in my heart over a year ago, but, I wanted to take the opportunity to make a public statement last night.  Thank you Jesus!

My daughter and I were truly blessed to be able to drive down to Harvest on Sunday and see Lost Boy. Awesome! After many years of radio and daily devotions, it was great to finally meet you. Thanks to you and your family for all you do. Stella is adorable!!

  6. Pam says:

I read the book as soon as it was available in the bookstore. I finished it in one day. I was sad when I was done, mostly because I wanted more! But I know it’s a continued work in progress. God is definitely not finished with you, Greg! Thank you for putting yourself out there. I know all can relate, no matter where they’re at or where they’ve come from.

I also watched the movie online last night. it will be a powerful tool to reach lots of people. Not only the lost, but those who also struggle with their past. My 17-year-old nephew was there last night. It’s my prayer that this movie spoke to him, I know he can relate. Thank you! May God continue to bless you and your family!

    Pastor Greg,
I would like get back to the fellowship with the Lord I had a long time ago. I know my life is not what it should be. I made a mess of my life. I need Jesus in my life. I watched The Lost Boy online. I know I am lost without Jesus in me. I want him in my life. I can’t live without Jesus in my life. I do love Jesus.

That movie touched me and my wife, we thank you for all you do for us and everyone else by letting the word of god known. nothing is impossible with the lord at your side at all times. looking forward to the crusade. Very good movie #1.

  11. Nikki says:

Hi Pastor Greg! Looking forward to watching the premiere at CCSB!

  12. Sean says:

Greg was our pastor while I was stationed at March Air Force Base. He dedicated both of our children to the Lord. So, when we heard that his story was coming out in book form, we were so excited.

We got this book in the mail a few days ago. I picked it up and began to read it right away. It is an absolute page-turner! It isn’t really about Greg Laurie. It’s about what the Lord has done for Greg Laurie.

Lost Boy will reach many, many people. It would make an excellent gift for anyone you know, especially if they don’t yet have a personal relationship with Jesus.

The book is written in a conversational and very readable tone. It’s so personal that it feels like Greg is telling the story to you as you’re sitting down together in your living room.

I believe the Lord is going to use Lost Boy to reach people in a very powerful, special way. All glory to the Lord! God bless, keep and continue to use you, Greg!

  13. Youtuber says:

Thank you Pastor Greg for obeying God in every aspect of your life. You live the scripture that says “seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteosness and everything will be added unto you.” Been hectic here for months now so I have not have a chance to check your blog. Lots of happening here I noticed. A movie premiere? Awesome!! Any chance it being in the northeast?

  14. Melissa says:

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago intending to give it as a gift to my ex-husband, who I feel is a “lost boy” himself. I decided to read it myself first, and what a great decision that was! I am not a “reader” by any stretch of the imagination, so I was surprised to find myself looking forward to reading every night before bed in order to continue on Greg’s journey. I finished the book within a weeks time. I am planning to purchase more of Pastor Greg’s books. I loved Lost Boy.

  15. Marianne says:

Greg Laurie is my absolute favorite christian author hands down! He’s coming to my church (Calvary Chapel) in Ft. Lauderdale next weekend and I hope to get a personalized autographed signed book (Lost Boy). Can’t wait to see the movie as well.
Hey Greg, thanks for being an inspiration to Pastor Bob in his younger years and preaching
the infamous words ” bloom where you’re planted.” I know you know what I’m talking about. Many blessings to you and your beautiul family. Get here safely, and if you’re hungry for a great homemade italian dinner, let me know. :o) Love in Christ, Marianne G.

  16. Nancy says:

I can’t wait to get my copy of Lost Boy! Been listening to the podcasts and this is a powerful witnessing tool. I sent a copy to
everyone in my family. God Bless You!

  17. Christal says:

We just got our copies of “Lost Boy” here at K-wave…thank you soooo much for that. I’m so excited, I can’t wait to read it all. I hope to have it signed sometime soon. Love the picture of you and pastor Chuck in Austria, and your beautiful wife when you first met her in the 70′s. Does she still have that dress??? I’ll get back to you when I’m done, I’m sure I’ll be taken by Our Lord and his greatness once again.

    In His Love,
